⏱ Timing Chips
Please bring the deposit for the timing chip (5000 HUF or smaller denomination) in cash. This will be refunded to you after the race at the finish area.
Don’t forget: you can also donate your timing chip deposit to charity after the race as part of the BioTechUSA NN Ultrabalaton Charity initiative! 😉
Each donater will receive a unique BioTechUSA NN Ultrabalaton Charity shaker and a special photo will be taken of them at the finish!
📲 NN UB App
For larger teams, using the timing system is not mandatory, but we strongly recommend that you check in at each point („beep in”) so your teammates can track where the current runner is via the app.
With the premium package, you can even follow the team members’ live locations. Plus, you can get a discount on running shoes at the Maratonman Depo store on Tüzér Street Budapest!
⏰ Checkpoint Opening Hours
As in previous years, we’ve published the opening and closing times of each checkpoint:
Outside these hours, no runners will be accepted at the checkpoints!
🚴 Lead Cyclist
At the beginning of the race, a lead cyclist will ride ahead of the pack. DO NOT OVERTAKE them, as our course permit and checkpoint timings are based on their pace.
Especially important for teams starting in the first 5 hours: assign slower runners to the early stages accordingly.
Overtaking the cyclist will result in DISQUALIFICATION.
Start times are based on your team’s estimated finish time.
🍝 Pasta Party
We’re welcoming you with a pasta party on Friday from 16:00 to 20:00 at the race center (first 5000 people only).
🎊 Opening Ceremony
The official team race opening ceremony will be held on Friday, April 25, at 19:00 in the main tent. Your presence will make the event even more special!
🚗 Traffic and Parking
To avoid traffic jams, the race center’s parking area will operate as a one-way system during the event weekend. Traffic will be managed by staff.
Once full, the area will be closed. In that case, you can park at nearby underground garages in Balatonfüred, the Tesco parking lot, or along the Tihany road (5–15 min walk).
Please DO NOT leave unused vehicles in the race center — park them at your accommodation!
🔢 Bib Number and Wristband
Wearing your bib is mandatory and includes the emergency number. Some services will only be available with a wristband.

🚲 Cyclist Companions
Support cyclists can start at the same time as teams or separately. They may also enter the start zone for team photos.
❗IMPORTANT❗
On the first 80 km of the race, cyclists must ride either ahead or behind their runner — NOT alongside. This will be monitored, and violating teams will be immediately disqualified!
🏁 Start Times

Teams that miss their start time will only be allowed to start at the end and checkpoint openings cannot be guaranteed.
Teams starting in the „final hour” (about 25–30 teams) will begin together at 18:30 in a mass start format for fair competition.

🖇 Merging Sections
To avoid congestion, we recommend merging segments! It will simplify logistics, reduce parking stops, and improve flow. Your runner simply checks in and continues while the team rests and prepares.
📱 We recommend carrying a mobile phone with the NN UB app and StafétApp installed!
🚾 Toilets
Where no built facilities are available, 4 portable toilets will be provided. These will be cleaned twice during the race. Please dispose of waste in the trash bins between the toilets, not inside the toilets!
🍫 Refreshments
This year, all runners will be provided water and isotonic drinks at every point. Over 5 tons of bananas will be distributed in stages so everyone gets some! At the team table, you’ll also find dextrose, raisins, and salty crackers.
♻️ #rungreen
Just like last year, you’ll only get refreshments in your own cup or flask. Bring your own — plastic cups have been banned to reduce our eco-footprint!
You can also dispose of any trash collected in your support vehicles at any checkpoint — we’ll take care of it!
🏃🚗 Vehicle Support
It is FORBIDDEN to follow runners by car at walking pace for the entire loop. This is for safety and traffic flow reasons.
Traffic rules will be enforced by motorcycle marshals, and violators will be immediately disqualified.
🅿️ Support Vehicle Parking
Expect limited parking at some checkpoints. Please be patient and considerate — everyone is aiming to enjoy and complete the race safely!
🌙 Night Segments
For your safety, headlamps are mandatory after sunset. You can buy one at the Maratonman Depo store at the race center during bib pickup.
We’ll conduct surprise checks — without a headlamp, runners will not be allowed to continue!
🏅 Medal Collection via STAFÉTAPP 🤩
At the finish line, medals will be handed out at tents just after the final timing mat. You’ll then run through the finish gate for your photo!
Use the “bib/medal pickup” menu in the NN UB STAFÉTAPP to display your team’s unique QR code and collect all medals at once.
The team member who picks up the medals will trigger a push notification to all team members confirming receipt.
📷 Free Photos
Put on your best smile at the start and finish — we’ll be taking photos there that you can download for free from NN Insurance’s website after the race.
You’ll also spot the Futófotó photographers along the route!
Note: We can’t guarantee photos for everyone due to varying checkpoint activity.
🏆 Awards Ceremony
Join us Sunday at 15:30 for the official awards ceremony. We’ll begin with individual results, followed by teams.
Awards are only handed out at the ceremony — no later pickups or postal delivery.
We kindly ask all podium finishers to attend and honor their competitors with their presence.
