When organizing NN Ultrabalaton, we face many challenges and unexpected situations. But every year, we begin with the same goal: to stay true to tradition and the spirit of the race while making the next edition even better!
We truly hope that the 20th NN Ultrabalaton in Spring 2026 will once again become an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience for all of you.
We’ve collected everything that will stay the same in 2026, and all the important changes you need to know about:
WHAT’S NEW IN 2026
- New registration system! From 2026 onwards, registration for all events will take place via the updated StafetApp platform! You’ll find all the important details about the new system [HERE].
- #Projekt418 – The double individual loop will be introduced as a new category. Completion will require qualification and must be for a charitable purpose.
- Due to high demand, we’ll once again set a team size limit for larger teams (10–13 people).
- High-quality MIZUNO race shirts will be back in your starter packs!
- Individual runners finishing after the cutoff time will receive a special “RESPECT” finisher medal! (competition rules)
- The bike tour will once again start on Saturday morning, giving cyclists the chance to enjoy the full Saturday NN UB experience. (Cyclists supporting teams will continue to start alongside their teams.)
- Special EXTRA, UNMISSABLE OFFER for all registered 2026 NN UB participants! You’ll get an exclusive entry opportunity for the NN City Run 2026, the perfect preparation race for UB! (Offer available Oct 17–23, 2025.)
- You’ll be able to order UB COLLECTION hoodies, personalized with your name! – (Details coming soon.)
🚨 IMPORTANT!
For 7–13 person team categories, registration will only be open for 48 hours. If you miss this window, you will not be able to sign up! Please remember that after registering your team, you’ll need to transfer a deposit of 40,000 HUF/team.
WHAT STAYS THE SAME
- Accurate loop time submission is essential! If your team submits the most accurate prediction, you’ll earn priority start time selection for the following year.
- To ensure a fair start time distribution, teams estimating an average time of 20–24 hours but assigned to start after 4:00 PM will be guaranteed a morning start time in 2026.
- The StafétApp will help calculate your team’s predicted finish time – a step-by-step guide is available on our website.
- Race shirts and medals need to be ordered by September to ensure delivery. This is why team (7–13) and McDonald’s BringaMánia Bike Tour registration opens on Saturday, Sept 20, 2025, at 20:20. Registration for individuals and 2–6 person teams opens Saturday, Sept 27, 2025, at 20:20.
- Pre-registration and start time selection for eligible teams will begin on Saturday, Sept 13, 2025, at 20:20. Based on estimated loop times, teams can select a start time from limited slots, available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Shirt exchange will be available after the race – no stress if your team lineup changes.
- On Friday’s race day, we’ll again offer extra aid station support inside the tent for solo runners and 2–3 person teams.
- SUB 24! All individual finishers under 24 hours will receive a unique medal!
- The race starts on the north shore, heads west, and finishes from the south.
- The 2026 course remains the same: 209 km for solo runners and teams, 418 km for Project418 runners (two loops).
- Every finisher receives a custom medal with ribbon matching their category.
- Solo finishers will be welcomed with a personalized finish line tape.
- Solo runners can choose their bib number during registration.
- We’ll host a pasta party the day before the race!
- Corporate teams will start in grouped blocks where possible.
- NN Ultrabalaton remains part of the Ötpróba series – if you’re registered, your 2026 UB kilometers can be exchanged for valuable prizes and entries.
- We’ll organize a team captain briefing for first-time teams to help you prepare.
- The 2026 event is planned for late April, but we’re already designating a backup date, just in case. That way, all teams can prepare for any potential postponement.
- We remain committed to organizing one of Europe’s greenest running events. There will be no printed brochures or flyers, no plastic plates at the pasta party, and no single-use plastic cups. All participants must bring their own reusable bottle or rent a refundable UB Trail Cup.
- Railway crossings will remain under strict supervision – safety is always our top priority!
- Lead motorcycle is back – overtaking is strictly forbidden.
- Good news: StafétApp will still be available in 2026 (and yes, you can “check” rival team weather conditions 😉).
- The NN UB Charity Program continues – supporting those in need is still a key part of our mission.
🎯 See you at the start line!
